wheel locks are useless...if someone wants your wheels they will take them. it sucks but thats why we pay insurance.

I don't feel wheel locks are useless because that's like saying the lock on your front door is useless.

They are both deterrents.

Damn, it always hurts to see wheels/tires being swiped in the middle of the night. The best thing that we can do really now is to look out for them on eBay, Craigslist, Kijiji, RedFlagDeals or other online forums, both automotive and non-automotive related, where people can sell items.

1 - DAAAAAAAAAAMN! i would shoot to kill if that happened to me! Geez what a way to wake up, and go to your Imperial TIE-Fighter! I feel for you man.
2 - Wheel locks are good. An alarm might be over kill, but it might lower your insurance.
3 - since winter is around the corner, why not just get some "whatever" rims and snow tires... and get good stuff next spring/summer? Do you really want to go thru insurance for a bunch of rims+tires???

Thanks for all the info guys... Its been a crazy week.

This has happened to my Dad a few times... he said the same 'nice of them to leave it on blocks for you' He didn't have the same luck.. left his on the drums.

I just bought the rims in the spring.. They were a 19'' set of Staggered Miro 111's in Matte Black with a set of Falken FK452's. I'll post some pics.

It happened around 4-5 am. I was staying at my Boyfriends house and he lives on Woburn Avenue in the Avenue Road and Lawrence area. Nice area.. every other car is a Benz or a Bmw or a Porsche. I'm the only one with the non stock wheels around there from what i've noticed. I was parked closest to the street in the car park right under the street light. I believe they watched me for a week or so as I remember seeing a car parked a few times late at night that didn't seem to fit the area.

Definately want to put an alarm system in now... Have the push button start system in my 335... any recommendations? I don't trust any wheel lock now.. I've googled how easy it is to get them off and really don't want to have to go through this again, or god forbid have some one steal the car next time.

Loved those rims and tires.. made the car look complete. Lol.. feeling naked now.

Getting used to my runflats again... probably will just leave them on till the cold weather when i switch to my snows and buy a new set of Miro's in the spring to replace them.

Any advice on installing an aftermarket alarm system for a push button start system.. heard a few years ago when i bought the car that it was a bugger on the electrical system and decided against it.

Any help, info or advice is appreciated.

My sister knows a guy with an e92 who had the factory alarm with tilt sensor, and they were still able to steal his rims.

OUCH! Hopefully this will turn out for the best and you'll get an opportunity to try a new set of wheels

Those were nice Miros though...very stealth!

can't remember which brand does it, either mcgard or rad, but they wheel locks design they have is different with almost every bolt they make, unlike bmw wheel locks that are the same for every car and a key from mcgard and/or rad need you to confirm the security code that was with the bolts when you bought it.
but in the end, if the thief wants the wheels, he'll end up getting them. not much you can do except for shock sensors built into the fenders so when someone touches the fender, your alarm will go off.
