Friend looking to buy a 325ci convertible. Looking for advice.

Hi everyone,

I have a friend who's looking to buy an early 2000 (2001-2003) 325ci convertible for his dad but knows nothing about BMWs. I used to own a 325i but it was an E36 and therefore have no clue about E46 models. Any obvious things to look for during an inspection? Questions to ask about major maintenances?

(I'm more looking for specific things related to those years and that model. We know to perform the due diligence of carfax/proper inspection/maintenance records, and so forth).

Thanks in advance.

(Also, if there's an existing purchasing guide that's been written up for such models, a simple point in that direction would be much appreciated).

I would get a car from 2003+ (MY10/2002+)
there were quite a variety of parts in the earlier years.... and some issues were resolved in the later years.

Depending on price... for a CI... i would go 2005/2006 if you can get it for a good price.
