Wow, I knew about the tunnel, but man, they're really tidying the place up!

Hands clapping large, but here is the pessimist in me. The new paved lower paddock is great for transporters, but are they still going to let us use it as a skidpad? Probably not. Time will tell. If not, we're looking at the paddock inside turn one. Next for spectators, the top of turn 3 is great, but all of the trees are gone. One of my favorite things about mosport has been the track in the middle of a forest type look. That is completely gone from turn 3. It has been great going around with complete wilderness surrounding you. Calabogie has it also in spades! Other than that the clean up is quite impressive.

Fantastic, It’s about time. It was starting to look like an over run camp ground.
I hope they save some money for the actual track though.

I second that forest comment, I hope they don’t get too carried away.

I can just see the new owners of Mosport sitting in the boardroom and pondering... Hmmm... Do we make major improvements to the track so we can attract NASCAR, Grand-Am, ALMS, etc... or do we leave the skid pad for the Trillium guys? Do we make it spectator/sponsor/TV friendly or do we leave old shitty roads and trees that block the view of the track?... Having said that, I kinda liked the trees.
But It had to be done. Long overdue. I just hope that it gets re-paved in a year or two.
And I am sure we'll have a place for our skid pad. I remember years ago when we had it at T1 we had a water truck, now THAT was fun!

^ Agreed, water truck antics were fun! Two skidpad sessions for variety too, that was a badass setup.

I hope they have it in the budget to fix the concrete patches so they aren't 1" or more above the pavement. When I was there in July it really upset the bike (and me!)

obviously they are going to try and attract large race series, with television coverage, that is the gravy business of any race track. Remember when Formula 1 used to race at Mosport?
However, with any business, you should never ignore the meat and potatoes businees ie: the dozens and dozens of car clubs that pay dearly to fill everyday of the calender for the rest of the year!

No.
Neither do you. You're not even old enough to remember 1977.

Er........shit disturber!
But I do remember when Montreal got it the next year I was 4. I went with my dad as my dad's company was one of the sponsors. And every year until '82 when we moved to TO.

As much as I want Mosport to be re-paved, there isn't a single place on the track where a part of a concrete patch even comes close to being 1 inch above the pavement.
Concrete patches are a necessity at any track over time - tires are too sticky and cars have more torque than a Mack truck.

True. But unfortunately for us and every other school/lapping day, Myles will spend about 5 seconds filling in a spot that was dropped by someone.
This place, as you know, is effing AWESOME and we are lucky to have it. Which brings me to my next point - as of this minute there are 150 views in this thread, I expect all that read it to sign up for Trillium schools! If you don't - you the gay!
