Found a 1979 320i on kijiji for cheap

Body looks in decent shape. Would be a nice project car if the body is solid.
I'd go look at it if it was closer....

you guys are talking paint, when you don't even know what it needs mechanically or body wise..lol

but as long as it looks good right? (Grin)take a roller and paint it egg shell. lol

latest addition 1 92-318i vert - blue - parts
latest addition 1 87 325is blk - parts.

latest addition as of 2013-Gold 87-325is auto! it's a keeper!

I wouldn't worry about the mechanics in this case, body is much more expensive to fix/paint.

I actually loving that safari beige e21, but thats me. I like how its so very old school european, w/ the nice contrast between black and safari beige, I'd love that as a second e21 for a run about car w/ plaid or houndstooth interior. Being a designer i'm all style over function...ahaha

That guy said the cars only spot of rust is on the drivers floor around the gas pedal... Says the rest is mint. *shrugs* I guess for a project car, you can't go wrong at that price.

+1 for the colour here too. A lot of oldschool BMWs seem to paradoxically look better the uglier they are, haha...

I think that's korona yellow. Personally, I'd keep it that color. That car looks pretty rust-free. Looks like a decent deal for $500.
