I worry about the filters used at these places. For those with regular, all-in-one filters, the filters these places use often have cardboard drainback valves. Then there's the issue of whether or not they have the correct crush washer.
Lastly, by the time you get out of there filled with whatever synthetic they use, you're getting close to the same amount of money I get charged at Autobahn (Autovation's more spendy, but also more convenient scheduling-wise). Todd has done my oil and filter with the appropriate synthetics for cheaper than I can buy the oil alone.
