BMW 502 (Baroque Angel) spotted for sale

Find and photos courtesy of jm1602. The owner wants $4,500 and isn't interested in parting. I want the engine -- anyone want the shell? Let's split this!

That would be awesome with an S62 swap and full custom treatment a la Chip Foose.

I had a good look at it. The shell and interior are toast. The engine looked decent.

I emailed my offer. Perhaps it'll be accepted; probably not. But one day there will be a 2.6L BMW V8 in my 2002. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow -- but soon, and for the rest of my life!

It's sort of a shame to break this car apart though. Quite a different BMW.
It's more like a Rolls or Jag than a BMW.

A restored version can sell for $25-$30K, it might be doable.
Cars not gone, but a more involved restore. All the glass is there, trim, numbers matching engine I assume.

A better drivable version.... cool car for sure.

Unfortunately it would prob cost $50-70K for the body/interior before anything else. Someone needs to recreate all the body panels which are toast. It was probably sitting in a field and has rusted from the bottom up. We are talking hand hammering out new panels, old school style. The interior is completely gone because of water damage, the wood is just gone. I've fully restored a tii with a good body, and I know what was involved in terms of cost and sourcing parts. Most everything on this car is NLA from BMW. And at the end of the day, you would prob be $80K into something worth $25-$30K.
