what is happening isn't unusual..especially for a 20+ year old car. the body gets flex when cornering, hitting bumps etc. Could be anything...I would start with lubing the moving mech of the roof. Anything that swings to open or close. quite possible the roof may need alignment.. I'd start with that and just open and close the roof a few times to get everything working. then close it and drive to see if it goes away.

Does it squeak with top up and windows down? If not, then the windows need adjusting. This would be my bet.

Anyone? No, no, everyone. Show me a man that has a vert that doesn't rattle and squeek and I'll show you a liar.

beuller...anyone see beuller...??? I agree with scott, unless the car had every bushing, component changed in it's entirety along with all the nuts and bolts that might have loosened over the years; then it is going to squeak. Anyone who says theirs doesn't has the stereo turned up to loud...LOL
Keep in mind the seats can also add to this.
