its probably an O2 sensor... its always an O2 sensor on the Jeta.

Mazda dealerships seem shady to me. My dad has a Mazda and a few weeks ago we went to the stealership for an oil change & after they were done they told him that he had a transmission fluid leak and that they'd have to do something about it. I don't know what they were planning to do and how much it would cost but my dad said that he didn't have time to leave the car on the spot so they scheduled an appointment a week or two later. During those two weeks he was checking to see if anything was leaking and he couldn't find anything so when he went to the appointment he asked for them to show him where the transmission fluid is leaking from. Guess what?...they told him that the there was no transmission leak and that they didn't know why he had an appointment made and that there was no record of them noting the transmission fluid leak. So nothing ended up being done...really fishy.

it might be just the technician doing an "up-sell", shady technician not necessary the dealership, I would report the technician to management...

i'm sure that if he didn't ask to see the leak when he came to the appointment they would've done the work.

Call Mazda Canada Customer Service and explain. I've dealt with a bad move from a service manager from a Mazda dealer years ago and it all got sorted out and I got my money refunded. 1-905-787-7000 they are in Richmond Hill

Couple years ago a mazda dealer attempted to ask me to sign the deal before doing the test drive. I lol'd and left.

Mind you I also have a bmw dealer story. Friend of mine had quite alot of $$ when he was young (due to television) and went to the bmw dealer to see about buying a new 3 series as a dd. Dealer would not give him the time of day and basically told him to go away. So he left and showed up at the dealership the next week with his brand new audi A4.

A dealership is only as good as the people who run it. The company makes little to no difference.
