2011 Trillium-Club Go-Kart Series!!!!!!

Hey Folks it's that time of year again!



This years Events will be held at Formula Kartways http://www.formulakartways.com/ in Brampton.

The dates are as follows

Starting

January 9th
January 23rd

February 6th
February 20th

And Ending on
March 6th

Basically every other Sunday Starting on Jan 9th

Here's the breakdown.

6:30pm Arrival/ Registration6:45pmDrivers meeting, introduction to basic rules

7:00pmRoad Track

Qualify (15 laps)
a) Practice
b) Drivers compete for best lap time

Race 1 (15 laps)
a) We line up drivers in qualify order using best times
b) Standing start, Green flag is waived
c) Race for positions, points are awarded

Race 2 (15 laps)
a) We line up drivers in race 1 finishing order with option of inverting the start
b) Standing start, Green flag is waived
c) Race for positions, points are awarded

9:00pm Checkered Flag/Podium presentation


For those that might be iffy on your Membership being up-to date, no problem. We can renew your Trillium membership at the Location. Just arrive 15 minutes early to take care of it.

The program is set up so it is fair for everyone. We will draw chips with kart #'s on them and that's your kart. It's the luck of the draw which kart you end up with. Before each qualify/race you will draw again for a different kart.

The location is really easy to find (410 and Steeles, 5 minutes from the 407)

Bring your helmets if you got em, for those that do not have a helmet Formula provides helmets with head covers.

Laps are usually around 30 seconds, my personal best is 26:16 If you can beat it I'll give you a hug. There are people who have run in the 25's but they're freaks, we don't need their kind round 'err. If I see anyone running in the 25's you will be disqualified.

For those that have not met me you might not know that I'm a little bit of a jokester, so the above paragraph mentioning people being disqualified for doing really good....... is false.

Just so that's clear.

Awesome, good show Dave. But I think you meant every OTHER Sunday, rather than every Sunday! I won't be able to make it to all but I'll definitely will show up at least once! As long as you're buying the beers after! LOL.

Yes, the yearly membership is $55.00 + HST which comes to $62.15. If anybody who isn't a member wants to participate, we can take care of the membership when you show up.

Remember the membership has alot of other perks as well.

Are the gas karts at this place fast enough that you're not always at full throttle?
What happened with GP Kartways? Those electric karts are pretty good.

These are fast karts. Some have more grip than others so depending on what you get you will have to brake in one, and not in another...instead flog it around a corner. I personally mostly drift them except for 1 corner. But the odd time I'll get a fast kart that's set-up differently and I'll have to brake in most corners. It makes it fun for competition.

Recently I did downsview (GP) and compared to Formula I wasn't impressed. It felt boring to me. So this year it will be at formula

Next year maybe we can do a poll.

In the drivers meeting I'll go over what's acceptable and what isn't. If you're new you'll learn fast. It's a really good chance to get out, have fun, socialize, and most of all be competitive!
