All good points and no i dont currently have an e30 m3. I have an everyday work truck and this is stricktly a summer weekend car that really doesnt get driven much. I would love to have an e30 m3 but i would want more power and i do have a cool, rare to canada motor. The shell i found doesnt have a motor or drivetrain for that matter so i would have to take a drivetrain from an e36 and drop my engine n tranny. It would be a unique car but ur rite in that it wont be worth as much as a stock one. I love the e46 m3 but how often do u get to see a e30 m3 on the road....i want to be unique not like everyone els. Insurence is less expensive as well on the e30....
Canada could use stricter rules for shops your hear way to many horror stories, leave it to the germans to do it proper.

Where is that shop that did the swap, that is the most important part of this whole thread!

Who cares!?! Why are you so tied up on where it was done? All you do is bash other shops on here and make threads go to the shits. For someone that runs a "business" himself, you sure need to sharpen your skills on professionalism.
To the OP, and to your original question, as much i myself love the E30 M3, i think i would opt to look for a newer bmw than to spend a small fortune on an e30. That's my personal opinion.

Im starting to agree with that statement. As much as i love the e30 m3 the e46 has so many more advantages its just that my dad had a e34 m5 growing up and that was my favourite car but when i found out about the e30 m3 i fell in love its just been a dream since childhood and i really gota give it up

Any car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I don't believe in "market value" I've seen so many cars on here selling for huge bucks and I didn't see any takers from this site. so all this talk about not spending, not being worth it and good investment bad investment doesn't jive with me. 86-325 blue 2-door has been on here forever trying to sell. e30-M3's and mod cars selling for 15-25k also. I don't see people coming up with that kind of money on here. It all comes down to "who" wants what. and is one willing to buy it. Bottom line. anything "worth" buying will need lots of money from someone who has it, and someone who wants the car. Anything else doesn't mean a damned thing. Will it take some time, you betcha. but it will sell eventually.

Not sure if im the only confused about this; you want to part out an E30, add $3-5K and buy an E46 M3...And not even an E30 M3!?...
