I believe the car need's to be re-coded. Something could have been replaced and not coded. It's worth a shot.

There's a list of issues, but most common are hpfp, wastegates, turbos.

I will be selling my 2008 e90 335i 6 speed MT black on black .. 56,000KM on it.. looking for 30K which is a lot lower then most 335i's listed for sale. If anyone is interested message me and I will send pics.

I was faced with a lot of nay-sayers when I was shopping for one (unreliable/hpfp issues etc). Started off shopping for a 328i coupe until I test drove the 335i. I genuinely cannot think of a car that compares to this vehicle in this price range. The refinement, the torque, the comfort. Not to mention the 07 335s have forged internals.

I say go for it, sure it may be a little more expensive to maintain but it's worth it for what the 335i delivers over the 328 in driving experience.

Mine did the same. Took off the glass and cleaned the connectors. No problems since.
