Winter Rubber on OEM 161's or cookie cutter steelies?

I know winter is a ways off but I gotta start figuring what I need to do for wheels/tyres..

Option #1: Put fat (225F/255R) winter rubber on my existing 161's.. and buy a set of VMR's with summer rubber next summer - (how will this fat setup work in the winter???)

Option #2: Package a winter rubber on steelies and get the new summer package.. and sell my 17" 161's (any interest??)

New to RWD.. any help would be appreciated.. Personally I'm leaning towards the first option because that would mean I have nice rims year round and I wont have to deal with the hassle of selling shit.. but if it is useless putting fat winter rubber then I'd rather not take any chances.

For winter, just go with 225/45/17 all the way around and you'll be fine. I can help you find tires too.

^^yeah, lots of 225's will fit even on the 8.5 in wheels in back.

yeah I think that is what I'm gonna end up doing.. 225's all around..I dont know what the best bet is.. ordering from tirerack (i can ship it to US easily) or getting the tires here..

maybe some feedback from you guys.. on summer tires?? im thinking of either VB3's ($200 cheaper) or V710s from VMR in gunmetal.. 18's or 19's??
