I have already called the mayor's office and expressed my concern, if you would like to do the same the number I called is: 416-397-3673. (There are probably other numbers)

I read an article about protestors going to an area of the park and protesting peacefully and literally repairing the ground that BMX'rs have torn up to shit.
I can imagine how many ambulances have been dispatched to that area of the park for cuts and broken bones. costing us tons of tax dollars..
the people that go bmxing down there should make a peaceful protest infront of city hall to express their outrage...
so I urge everyone to support the natives as they are doing something that none of us do when we get pissed off... is protest
Soon the governments (local/prov/fed) will just hand over all the land in Canada to Natives because they claim it's all theirs.
I'm sure there's no camping allowed there, someone should hand out fines. When they block highways and disrupt places for days and/or months, they should be arrested.
The government needs to stop bowing down to them and treat them like every other person.
In my opinion of course.

Iam not sure u know, but u are talking abt the true originals of this country..
I understand some of their protests make no sense and are exaggerated, but giving them fines is funny to hear. Cuz iam sure if your on your land you would feel like you can camp anywhere you want and dare someone look at you, unless ur on someone property, but i understand thats a public park.

why is the gov't so afraid of the natives?didn't they give the land away for guns and bottles of rum,now they want it back?and no i'm not being racist here.
i'm sure if they had jobs, they wouldn't have all this free time.i wonder how much money is handed out yearly to natives all across Canada by our gov't?
Ah there were people here before the natives..and people before them....Canada is so weak in dealing with special interest groups its getting insane.Try this chit in the US,Europe and asia and you get locked up asap.Caledonia was a mess since Ottawa ask the OPP to stand down and let the natives run wild, they dont pay taxes but receive generous support checks from Ottawa, they allowed to smuggle chit across the border with no fear of punishment, they have their own police force which takes millions in bribes to look away and now every piece of land in Canada is theirs?..no way....

You need a history lesson.
The government of Canada is guilty of genocide against first nations people. We owe them more then any of us will ever know.
We owe them???..which people did the natives take the land from?...or does your history of Canada starts in the late 1800...
Question is: where does your history start from? You can go back any amount of time and you'll find these people were here. And quite nicely too, look at what we've done in the past 200 years of being here. Athabasca, genocide, Arctic oil loot, any-mine-you-can-think-of in North America etc etc.
I like how you conveniently say Europeans lock you up for stirring up stuff like that yet forget to mention that they do so because its their land! So, going by your argument natives should actually be doing much more than clean up that shit bikers and campers leave. Again, it's their land.
ALL of our taxes should go to them, as we are living on their land. Plus give them credit, at least they have the guts to protest. Unlike most of the other e-crowd that are a bunch of fairies.

Lol.
That park has been ridden for over 10 years by BMX riders. I highly doubt the amount of broken bones and ambulances that have been dispatched is anymore than any other sports venues.
Ambulances come to skateparks and trails way less often that you would expect. (Seriously)
Also this isn't the first time their has been a confrontation between riders and this group.
Last year the cops were called on this same group to get them to leave as they were threatening a bunch of teenagers. The police found this group to be out of line and escorted them out of the forrest while the riders were permitted to stay.
Near the end of the season the park was closed (to everyone) while the city tried to figure out what was going on.
Not being a priority the city never resolved the situation and this year people started riding the jumps again so this group just went in and tore them down.
What will probably end up happening (I have seen it before) is that the whole forest will be fenced off and now useless to everyone.
The last time I rode there was for my friends 40th birthday day who is ironically native and took up the job of maintaining the jumps the last few years.
