My New E46 Cabrio

Hey everyone!

I've been lurking the forums since 2005 gathering information on the E36 and E46 as I've always wanted one. There have been some good deals on cars over the years, none of which I've purchased (due to lack of funds) but I have learned much from many of your posts.

So that being said, I just wanted to formally introduce myself; my name is Adam and I am the proud new owner of a 2001 325Ci Cabriolet, Orient Blue on Tan Leather. It's only missing the sports seats (which I really really want, but have only found 1 other cabriolet with tan sport seats and they weren't selling them)

Picked it up on Tuesday, April 26 with 181,263km on the clock. Its in pretty decent condition and I'll snap some more pictures on the weekend hopefully.

So far there have been some nice days and I have been enjoying the topless ride... I am amazed though at how many people stare at the car... its kinda weird for me considering I have been driving a slammed 1994 Honda Accord Station Wagon (hence the name GreeNAccorD) for the past 6 years and the only looks I got were from people in other Hondas that either wanted to race or were intrigued that someone would slam a wagon on 19's LOL

Anyways, I've already started modding the car with Rich's SSK. I've posted some pictures and videos in the Rebirth Motorsports foru.

Ill be adding the following at some point:
- angel eyes
- red/clear tails
- clear corners and side markers
- a decent set of coilovers to hopefully match my new username (should Bliss approve my request )
- MarkD tune (after I get all my maintenance done)
- DICE mediabridge
- Ski-passthru subwoofer mod/fabrication
- boot lip spoiler
- and possibly much much more later pending funds

Welcome to the club!

Don't worry soon you will become impervious to the amount of stares you get!

Smitty - Yes I remember you... There are actually a few guys from TAC that have bought E46's

I'm not really new to the board, just now actually have a bimmer and I'm finally experiencing the ultimate driving machine... What surprised me is that my E46 gets better gas mileage than my old Accord wagon

So I bought a GruppeM intake off of maXbimmer member "gawa" and I installed it today... I thought I would post some pictures of my install

It is obviously used; I believe that I am the third owner. As you can see from the pics there is no rubber protection around the edge of the carbon fiber so I loaded it up with foam tape... hopefully it will hold up to at least winter, at which point I will probably put on some thicker foam...

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, I lent my DSLR to my cousin two weeks ago for a week... go figure

The intake was kind of flimsy and knocking around when I shook the piping so I decided to macguyver some sort of mounting system... Take a look, it is not fully done but it definitely will hold for now.

I cannot believe the difference in sound this thing makes on my car. It has a slight sucking noise when you push the pedal and then it turns into a mean growl... I like!!!

I havent driven it far yet, but the drive to work tomorrow should be fun I will post here if my fuel consumption changes because of the intake as I am curious to know how much of a difference it makes.
