Is it my MAF?

Alright guys here's the deal, I've done a bit of research myself and I think I've come to the conclusion that it is my MAF but, I wanted to hear out the maxbimmer community, so if you could please give me your thoughts it would be very much appreciated.

I own a 2002 325Xi, and for quite some time my car has been acting moronic, at random times the engine light will come on. A couple of minutes after the light comes on, my car starts to run sluggish, as if it's gasping for air or something,but if i turn off the car and back on, it runs normal, but if i leave the car idling it starts all over again. The light stayed on for quite some time and randomly disappeared. Recently it has come on again, and the same thing is happening so I connected my OBD 2 reader and here's whats come up:

P1351 - Misfire cylinder 5 With fuel cut-off

P0300 - Random misfire detected

P0175 - System too rich (bank 2)

P0172 - System too rich (bank 1)

P1349 - Misfire cylinder 4 with fuel cut-off

P1345 - Misfire cylinder 2 with fuel cut-off

P1353 - Misfire cylinder 6 with fuel cut-off

P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

P1343 - Misfire cylinder 1 with fuel cut-off

P1619 - Map Cooling, Thermostat control circuit signal low

P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

P0300 - Random Misfire detected

LOL to most people, my car must sound like a write off because of all these codes but then again when it comes to BMW one thing just leads to another, so i'm hoping that it's actually just the MAF sensor or something. Here is a picture of the other things that my OBD 2 reader displayed.

Do a google search on you MAF... I could be you need the sensor cleaned\replaced... A hole in the hoses connecting to it or air flow blockage.

I had a similar issue with mine, lucky it was cuz I go a bunch of snow in my intake fans. Stupid me drove in Snowmaggedon.

Clear the codes and test it again to be sure. (I assume you did that anyway)

If I were u, I would get a reading from an independent shop. Those messages dont seem to clear & a MAF is not too cheap, so if u replace that it would be a couple hundred dollars.

But as mentioned, try cleaning it w/ Throttle body cleaner

It's an Innova 3130, for all 1996 and newer vehicles, I paid roughly 125 or so including tax, I got it from PS

Ya, I've looked around and realized the MAF is a pricey part, exactly why I was trying to get input from the maxbimmer community, because I personally think the way my car acts, it doesn't make sense to be just my MAF, perhaps it could also be my O2 sensor as well along with my CAT

Could be your Camshaft sensors too. There are numerous possibilities. You can either guess and test or just get a reading from an independent shop who specialises in BMW.

If u go the MAF route, get a used one from the recyclers on this forum.

Apparently the MAF for the BMW is also good for the hyundai

You think if I were to take it to someone that specializes in BMW, that they would know exactly what it is, or would they be doing trial and error. If it's the case of trial and error then I may as well just do that myself, it saves me the money of paying for labor.

LOL Maybe I'm cursed and I'm sending the MAF sensor flu to you. Now that I think of it, I really don't think it's my MAF sensor because I disconnected the wire, and connected my OBD 2 reader, and only then did I get a reading of something wrong with my Mass Air Flow Meter, but the minute I connected it back up again, the code went away but the others still remained. Funny enough I recently connected it and the number of codes I had dropped from 12 to 6.

Get some CRC Sensor Kleen from NAPA..take the MAF out,,spray liberally and let dry..re-install and monitor for few days..maybe oil on your MAF if your running an oiled air filter..
