Rice For Dinner - April 29th?

Whether you love them, or hate them, the new Fast 5 comes out April 29th. The latest film in the Fast and Furious series. Despite my age, I have come to enjoy these films, but I'm a Muscle Car guy first and foremost, so Challengers and Chargers will get me to sit through just about anything.

So - that said - we all know that the local cinemas will be packed with kids in their mommas' Accord or their riced-up Civics.

Do we wanna show 'em how it's done? We should organize one showing to just swarm into, and take over Bimmer-Style!

Thoughts?

(ok, I know that there is potential for this to become a bash-thread about the bad acting, and bullshit stunts in these flicks, but they're not exactly Oscar-contenders, are they? 'sides - Jordanna Brewster is pretty hot!)

That's putting it mildly. Especially in the case of "Fast and Furious."

Perhaps the Rock can save this one.....

Sure - because if anyone can act, it's Dwayne F**kin Johnson

So - because it's an IMAX presentation, I'm thinkin' Silver City
Also, SC IMAX allows for advance ticket purchase online, AND assigned seating, so we won't have to be inside lining up 2 hours before-hand.

As we get closer to the date, we can coordinate our mass purchase (once we know how many are 'in') and arrange seating. Take over a corner of the parking lot with our bad-ass toys.

I am a fan, but I never said he was a great actor. He is, at least, interesting. Paul Walker has all of the charisma of an empty toilet paper roll. Vin Diesel started off awesome, and moved to sucking at such a rapid rate it makes one's head spin. Didn't he once swear he would never do another "Fast and the Furious" movie? Now he's producing them. Guess the box office from "A Man Apart" and "Find Me Guilty" didn't go as far as he thought.

Then there's the issue of a "car" movie ("Fast and Furious") where most of the driving action is created using CGI. If most of the driving action is created at a computer terminal, then it isn't a car movie.

The first one of these movies was fun. The second was awful, and the fourth one was by far the worst (I haven't seen "Tokyo Drift"). Perhaps the Rock can inject a little something into it -- I don't know. I hope it's good, but I'll wait for DVD to find out.

The E39 at the beginning earns some small points from me. I'd bet it has a check engine light though.

Tokyo Drift was the best one in the series. Bad shit happens to people in it, and lots of cute Japanese girls.

The first one was still my Fav. Tokyo drift was alright because it introduced some cool drifting and neat looking imports. The tiny girls help too.............. I guess lol.

I agree, for the most part. The 'car wrangler' for part 2 was a real car guy, and was annoyed with the BS wheel stand from the Charger in P1 - so he brought some more realism in - except for the lame-ass 'ejector seats' - With the CGI, let's say that they're "car" movies, but not "driving" movies. Vanashing Point didn't need CGI - and that Challenger did awesome things!
