hi guys, located one of the lost one. off the road since 1995, still running on original Pirelli P700z!! M-tech spoiler package, Dinan stage-3 suspension. Stebro exhaust system, no cat!! still have to sort out the ownership of the car(own by used car dealership but have belly up). also need to sort out the brakes & some electric glitch. if the car checks out ok will be for sale. give me some idea.
Hey guys, thanks for all the inquire. still have to go through the car to decide what to do. at the moment r having fun with the front brakes (the pins that lock the brake pads in the caliper r seized solid). also the P700z r so old the sidewall r cracking up, so for sure no test driving for the weekend so stay tune.
oh btw the VIN is WBSDC9308J2791756, mileage is around 176k. the Alpina rims r the only rims with the car so cannot sell them at the moment.
i think this car has the high-tech engine, the one that was pioneer by GM in the early '80s in certain Cadillac model. it is call the 2-4-6 engine. what it does is when u start the car up, especially when u let her sit for couple days, the engine is running on 2 cyl. once u let her warm up a bit (or if u still have the full set of tools in the trunk u can remove the spark plugs & clean them up 'cause they r completely foul) she will run on 4 cyl. once in the full moon ( or if u clamp on the fuel pressure regulator hose) she will run on the full 6 cyl.
i think BMW never admit that & call this engine M88/S38.
hi all, off for couple days. still have not decide what to do with the car yet. 2 many issues. free up the sticky brakes already, got 4 used tire, still chasing my tail about the engine shut off once warm up. still looking for a cat (or wait till next year when the car need no etest). the ownership paper is still a mess. MTO said has to transfer to another dealership (since this is a used car lot car). OMVIC said they have to release the restriction first b4 any transfer can be done (the used car lot had folded) stay tune!!
btw Red Liner740 the M88/S38 engine used for the m5 is actually the TUNED version of the M88 used in the M1, 286hp versus 277hp. of course those horses only come out in a good day, not 2 sunny & humid. not to mention 2 old, HEHE!!!
