Mosport Karting - "Arrive and Drive"

Anyone on here signed up or previously participated in the "Arrive and Drive" program at the Mosport Kart track?

Any feed back on the karts / how well this is run? Looks decent value with a practice, qualifying and two heats for 55$. I singed up for the Sunday morning schedule if anyone wants to carpool to the track (shoot me a pm).

The schedule: http://www.mosportinternationalkarti...11schedule.pdf

I did it. It's pretty good. You have to be real easy with all the controls or you spin. And spin you will often lol. The best time i had all year was a night rain race. I couldnt see anything and it was like driving on ice. They have some problems with the karts but what place doesn't. I think they got all new engine for all the karts. I believe race suits are mandiory this year, they sell them fairly cheap. And in the beginning there are also some knuckle heads that are there, but by mid season will be mostly all gone.

Thanks for the info, by all accounts their karts should be better than the avg "Arrive and Drive" place.

Depending on what configuration they use for the track the lap times will vary from 30ish seconds to 1.23ish. Its better just because the laps are so much longer. And by knuckle heads I mean the people who bitch and complain about everything and drive like crazys. Its a blast, and I'd go back but I'm gonna put the money into my car and go to the track.

I am doing the opposite, little money for track so doing more of this instead. Just need to get a carpool to cut gas expenses.

Never said I wanted to drive less. And unfortunately race school did not happen - weather said snow & had lots of work so I bailed. Reading the comments on Bimmerforums - no snow and great event but I had an equal amount of fun writing an essay on tax law .

Transferred funds to future event - probably the 3 day Memorial weekend or race school next year.

John, I should be at the next Trillium school at Mosport (if you kindly accommodate the instructor request). Will probably do GVC at Mosport as well. Karting should be fun.

All you instructors have it made; show up and drive for free (minus the part of sitting to the right of a loonie who decides to panic and abruptly lift at turn 2 or go flat through 4 his first time out)
