annoying rattle

when i drive over bumps, or manhole covers, or even if the car is parked and off - and i close the door hard...

i hear an annoying rattle, something is shaking and loose under my car and i just cant figure it out! its so annoying!

of course i need to be standing up to shut the door hard, and cant be listening around under the car at the same time.

any ideas as to what this rattle might be?

Could be a loose engine undertray

your ebrake maybe? try rocking the car with the ebrake disengaged

Could be almost anything metal on the car. I had the same thing the other day and turns out the spring clip on my front brake pads popped off it's normal spot.

is it a heavy sound or light ?
could be heatshields. could also be an ex hanger broken or missing allowing it to shift

figured it out! my suspension cross-brace under the front of the car was loose... I have no idea how that happened. tightened it up - end of story.
