Cruise control not working

Hey guys,

So I just found out that the cruise control on the 2003 330ci I got does not work. The controls for the radio work, but the cruise control does nothing. Even the 0/I doesn't turn the light on. Any ideas?

Didnt you just buy it?

Didnt you buy it from a dealer?

Take it back and let them fix it.

I bought it last weekend, yes. I'm taking it back on Tuesday to have the key fobs fixed and I'll ask about the cruise control. Does anyone know which fuse is for cruise control? I thougt it was part of a module and didn't have an independent fuse. I'm new to e46s

Open the glovebox, open the fuse tray, there is a diagram of all fuses. If its there then its there. I have no idea if its a separate fuse or what not as I have never had to change a single fuse in 6 of the cars I've owned , 3 of which are BMWs.

This might be a dumb comment, but try and press the button harder and for a full second. When I bought my car I thought it wasn't working... turns out I had to press the button just a little bit harder.

Hey, not a stupid comment at all. I'll try it today. I think it might be something with the speed sensor though because the intermitent wipers are not very... intermitent. all of the settings appear to have the same delay. wow, all those little things that i never really thought about when buying the car. (other then that I love every second of driving it lol)

The cruise control will not engage if the brake pedal sensor is not made. There's a switch that checks if you brake pedal if fully up. If the pedal is not up, or the sensor bracket is bent away slightly, then it won't make contact and your brake lights will be on.
Turn on your car, put the handbrake on and take a look at the brake lights to see if they're on. If they are, then it's the probably the switch.
Try pulling the pedal up or bending the bracket into place.
Good luck!
