LF: I need an M54B30 ASAP

Hello fellow sponsors, and members, i need an M54 3L motor for a 2002 530i auto.
The current motor is at 250K and burns oil.(valve seals i'm guessing)

Let me know what you have, what mileage and how much. Thanks.

Yeah alot more than usual i think, for 4K it would take more than a liter of oil. And this is considering i RARELY floor it.

Check the CCV and for any leaks, and then if that doesn't work try lucas.

i dont think its consuming that much to be honest. i add a litter every 6000-7000km in my 02 330ci which has the same engine with 160k on the clock. check your valve cover gaskets for possible leaks.

You add a liter every 6-7L i add a liter every 4K.

I don't know how many of you know me, but i am NOT how shall i say this "an apprentice" mechanic, i rebuild those motors. So when i state something like i need a new motor, by all means i have checked all things that could cause the oil to disappear and everything beyond that. The compression is low and the car smokes blue. Valves are not sealing properly, oil is going down into the cylinders very very slowly.

Anyways to hell with that motor, i'm gonna rebuild it when i have time and throw it into my E34 or something. But now i need an M54 to go in the E39 so i can get rid of it.

How do the compression #s look?

Trouble shoot the CCV, use some good oil. If you worked on E36s and E34s it doesnt mean that all of the sudden you know about M54 engines. I dont question your knowledge but you may be overlooking a few little things.

I have a M54 bottom end if you want it for your rebuild, will let it go for very cheap.

so what's so different about E46's? from 36's? and how the f@ck do YOU know what i worked on?

1st, crankcase ventilation has been replaced.
2nd, compression is low and uneven, 120-155psi cylinders 1 through 6
3rd, I do use good oil (Liqui Moly)
4th, Thanks for the block offer but i can just rebuild my own if i needed to, problem is in the head on this one.

I have an M54B25 that didn't burn oil when I pulled it and has 172k on the clock. Has the harness and DME also. The heads are interchangeable between the two engines if you want to use mine to rebuild yours.
