LF:coupe drivers door handle

Broke mine trying to replace the trim. Now I know how to do that, but left with a broken door handle.

Actually does anyone know what the door handle microswitch does ? That's all that is broken off.

The outside trim, no. The rubber is however. I bought mine from the guy on ebay. Not a great fit but it works. You need to make the hole bigger for the lock.

Are we talking inside or outside handle?

the outside black handle is interchangeable; the inner door handle trim is also. I can't recall if the actually inner handle part is as well since it's been a while that I did one. the door handle "mechanism" I don't believe is interchangeable.
the micro switch is to activate the interior lights before stepping into the car. allowing for a delay of approx 8 sec. and then goes out or when you put the key into the ignition it will go out immediately. most of them are broken and don't work.

Yes, the outside. And now that i think about it, it should be interchangeable.

Thanks for the info.

when i had this on the car the window went up and down with no problem, but i exchanged doors since the door lever latch (aluminum) inside broke so i replaced the entire door with a working door, but the trim is perfect. When i took the door off the window was operating smoothly up and down, but i cant garantee you that now as its been 2 yrs and its in storage in the basement, may need to be lubed. anyways, if your interested let me know.
