Exclamation *HID issue with my BMW E34 540i*

Hey guys,
I have installed MaxCar HID's in the car. They work great but one issue, sometimes the passenger bulb wont turn on.

I would have to turn off the car and turn it back on, and then it would work.
Anything i can do to fix that?? It wouldn't be as annoying if i had my DRL's deleted but I cant find anyone to do them for me under $100.

Please let me know,
thanks guys.

You have a burnt wire somewhere, it probably has some carbon it from being broken / loose. I had to fix the spade connector on the positive side head light, to track it down you have to wiggle small sections until you find the bad area.

RMP will do DRLs for less than $100. If it's only recently started to happen then it's either a dead bulb or ballast. Swap them left to right to check. If it's always been that way then it may be the LKM switching it off. You'll know this because you'll get a low beam error and it will always turn off after the same interval.

From what I hear, its not as easy to do DRL's on a E34 compared to other models, but I'll give RMP a call for sure.
And I've been having that issue from day one and I have a feeling worn out wiring would be the issue as the lights don't turn off while driving or anything, but whenever i turn the key to start up the car, usually the left bulb doesn't go on..so i turn off the car and crank the car up and then everything is fine.

Ah E34. Have you seen this yet?

A fail start can happen with a bad ballast or bulb. Do a bulb swap to see if it follows the bulb first.

I'll switch the bulbs and we'll see what happens.
