Will e46 rims fit an e36?

I checked the threads, and while I found a lot of info regarding tire sizes and wheel offsets etc., I did not locate a post that out-right stated this answer.

I am looking for summer rims for my 1996 328i - Eurostyle has a set that I want, but they are in Toronto, so in the mean time, I was looking at a set of WAAYYY overpriced ones locally, from an e46

Specs are:

18x8J H2
OFFSET: 38 mm
BOLT PATTERN: 5x120

however, I don't know if they will transition to my '96 e36. Tires are listed as DUNLOP SP SPORT FM 901 235/40ZR18 BRAND NEW!!!!! 10/32 OUT OF 10

thoughts?

From my experience they will fit no problem but just in case try it before you buy it.

That's the plan! The guy wants $1,900 for M3 rims and used DUNLOP SP SPORT FM901 235/40ZR18 tires - trying to talk him down by about half!

If he bites, I want to test fit first.

E46 m3 rims will not fit an e36. The M rear offset is different.

Non-M e46 wheels should fit no problem.

well, does this help?

...so I need to know 1) if they'll fit, and 2) if these wheels with those tires is worth $1,000 - cuz the guy agreed to drop the cost, if I gave him a deal for some work for him. I'm pretty sure that I can get rims and tires for less than a thousand bucks, but those are pretty nice rims.

Opinions are welcomed and encouraged

Those are reps! Not oem.

Need to know the offset to say if they fit an e36. If they are low offset like a e46 m3 needs they won't, but I have no idea what kinda reps these are.

That style rims were never made in 18x8 (as far as I know). So the pic won't help. You need to determine offset.

Was just going to test fit them before buying - thanks for the help guys - based on what you've said, what would be a fair price for them with rubber?
