New BMW Brand Coming Monday

BMW will announce the official name of its new sub-brand on Monday during an online press conference. The project has been dubbed “i” since its inception and will focus on electric and small vehicles. The first car will be the Mega City Vehicle, which goes on sale in 2013.

I think its a good move. As much as I love combustion engines, electric power is a superior technology.

We need to start somewhere, and getting big companies like BMW to do large scale research is necessary.

One day electric vehicles will outperform petrol vehicles, and will be much more convenient and practical. The biggest obstacle is the storage of power, so hopefully the auto makers find a solution to it.

progress will always remain, whether we hate it or not. Its good to see Bimmer doing some ground work in the development of the electrical engines. I just wish they make it look like a normal BMW, and not like that box on wheels that doesn't suit the company's image what so ever.
