I'm sure Rob was seriously reconsidering carpooling to Mosport when he saw the car.

I consider that a huge honour! There are TONS of ghetto E30's around and it took a lot of work to get it to look that bad. I did get a thumbs up from someone as I was driving today which was pretty cool.

Do you think vice grips are lighter then an M Tech 1 wheel???

Well I think we jinxed it when we said we could have an E30 cruise to the entrance of Mosport. Something had to happen after that.

Your shock mount is raising its hand.

Cooool. I've never seen one push the entire bushing out of it casing before. At least not without it being shredded all to hell.

Yeah I was pretty surprised too when I saw that!

I was on my to Mosport on Sunday when I noticed it. I was going to my Dad's house to pick him up and the passenger rear was making a really weird noise. I took a look underneath and everything seemed okay. I didn't bother looking in the trunk because I put a bunch of stuff in there before I left and hadn't noticed anything. I ended up not taking the car because I knew something was wrong.

When I got home I opened the trunk again and that's when I saw the top of the shock sticking through the trunk liner!

What I'm wondering is if that happened because the suspension is too stiff for stock shock mounts, or it is just because they're old?

If I replace them with stock ones will this just happen again?

Probably happened because they are old. I have run three different sets of Bilstein shocks (ranging from stock Bilstein Sports to J Stock valved ones), and all have run on rubber HD mounts and never really had any problems. Obviously the lifespan is shorter when paired with stiff shocks. I think my mounts lasted a little over a year with the stiff J Stock shocks...

You will be fine with a new set of HD mounts. They are cheap too!

Autopartsway has Corteco mounts that are apparently OEM quality for $12 each. They also have MTC mounts for $30 each.

Next on the to do list will be installing shadowline trim and possibly a shadowline grille.

Maybe if I am bored I will clean up this mess...

Are you missing all the center consul or is it just out
