Really only $40? I remember going into a dealer last year and asking, it was a lot more than that otherwise I would have ordered one.

Yeah Stephen, I think you're way off on that price too. A lighted key is way more than $40 from the dealer. You're lucky to get the valet key for $40. I was in the same situation as this Steve^ where I asked the dealership how much they cost and it was over $90. I went the ebay route, and got one from California for under $40. Cut for $5.

The keys I bought from Ebay don't have lights on them. They did have some with lights for more money but I rarely try to open my door when it's pitch black outside so I figured I would save my money.

The quality is of course not amazing but if you're just looking for a key then it's worth it.

That's hilarious! How long did it take to ship?

Can I ask what happened to your key? My key was like that when I got the car and I couldn't figure out what you could do to a key to cause that to happen. Common occurrence?

At least your coupon isn't expired!

I ordered it march 28th. The key literally exploded when i tried starting my car one day. As I turned the key in the cylinder the plastic shattered into quite a few pieces.

Nope, if you ask for a key, they tell you 90 for the crappy one, because they assume its the cheapest, I asked for a lighted, roughly 40 each. I bought two since I ruined both of my cars keys (screwdriver key FTW)

I got mine in july or august. I will try to find the reciept, but I doubt I put it somewhere smart

Will a locksmith really not have a blank that will work for an E30 key? The blanks don't look that special.

Finally got the rear suspension done on the car last night! Hopefully I did it right...

I got a letter recently from my condo management recently saying that someone who lives in my townhouse complex complained that I have been working on a car IN my garage! Oh my god!!! Working on a car INSIDE a garage! That's madness!!! Apparently it is not allowed... So I decided to take some pictures of my crappy old suspension on my lawn.

We'll see how many letters I get for that. I live in a complex full of retired dog walking gardeners so probably quite a few.

Today will be brakes!

One of the many reasons I'll never live in a town house complex

Keep up the work!

You should look into getting some dust boots for the rear shocks.
