I find it doesn't matter what mounts I use, HD, cabrio, E46 cabrio, whatever, the vert goes through them faster than any other wear item on the car. The best part about them is that they're also one of the easiest jobs to do on the entire car (esp. on verts).

Car: e30 touring

That sux, but at least it wasn't due to rust and punched through bolts and all. I had a heavy duty set I bought when I got the springs that I don't think I'm going to put in the touring too bad I could of given you a deal on them. At least they're a small $ item, and look like an easy fix. On the touring they're under some rear bracing so they're a bit harder to get to.
Called my insurance company and got a new quote for the touring and it's come back into the reasonable range, so I'm thinking of dailying it once my bumpers finaly get here.

Basically HD shock mounts came on convertibles, but coupes and sedans came with regular shock mounts.

I'm happy it wasn't rust too! If that was the case I probably would've just given up on the car.

The bumpers that 411 provided in the deal for my m-tech II kit. There at my brothers in Ottawa and I was supposed to get them in April from him but plans were altered so they'll be here last week of July so not too long away, gives me time to fix the blower.

I went by Maranello BMW for some shock mounts and ended up buying a little more...
Parts!!!
Replaced the mounts yesterday and the car is back on the road.
Here is a little tip: If you ever feel like your car needs be a little faster or handle a little better, drive a slower, worse handling car for a few weeks.
This car is like night and day compared to the Vert. And I know the Vert is heavier and therefore slower (also an auto) and it's on stock suspension but I was still surprised at the difference.
I guess a lot has to do with never driving my Coupe when it was stock and I just now have another E30 to compare it to.

Wow it's been a while! I was away on holidays in Europe for a month and I hope I didn't miss too much.
Although I was excited to see my car when I got back I kind of forgot the disaster I had left behind...
The mess is slowly getting cleaned up and I finally installed a shift knob
Not too fancy but obviously a HUGE improvement over the non existent shift knob I had before. No more shifting with my index finger and thumb!!!

I thought you were dead, and the e30's fell into the wrong hands! How many suitcases of euro tidbits did you smuggle home?

Sadly I brought back nothing.
I was there for a month and I travelled from Paris down to southern Italy and I can easily count the number of E30's I saw on both hands... And I was looking too!
I had time to check out some junkyards when I was in Italy, but I didn't bother since I never saw any being driven I didn't think there would be any. Of course that could've meant they were ALL in junkyards but I doubted that.

It's possible that soon one of my E30's may be in someone else's hands. I may need to buy a more reliable car so one of them will need to go. I'm on the fence about which one though.

I pretty much knew when I got this car that one day I would decide to part it out, and it looks like that day is today.
I don't have room for it and I'm not willing to put the money into it that's necessary for it to safely remain on the road... Realistically this car should've never been on the road at all!
It has surprisingly been a reliable car (somewhat). Absolutely NOTHING works on the car but for some reason it keeps on running.
I did have a tonne of fun messing with it, and it was the first car that I have ever worked on, so I definitely do not regret buying it.
Most of the good parts will be swapped over to my Vert. Some parts I'll be keeping as spares. The rest is up for grabs.
I am in no way parting this car for financial gain! There is really no money to be made considering that I'll be keeping pretty much anything of value.
If anyone does need something please let me know. If I am not keeping it then I will probably just give it away to clear up space. I do need this car gone in a few weeks so let me know ASAP!
Also, if anyone is interested in the shell then it will also be given away. There are already some people who are interested and they are first in line. However, let me know if you are interested and I'll keep you in mind.
If anyone knows someone who would dispose of a shell then please let me know in case nobody wants it.
