I have driven (one of my favourite cars of all time), and you're soft.

Maybe if it's a NB or NC, but a white NA (91) 1.6L is just horrid... I hated every second of it.

Know what would be amazing!? If you had the carpet for the trunk! Mine is missing and it's driving me nuts.

I'm pretty sure I didn't keep that one! But I got boxes of small Subaru parts...

I'm trying to think of what I need. If you have an alternator, that'd be wicked.

Sam I know I bugged you about convertible and so on.........but I was just kidding. The miata is a solid car. Yeah it needed a bit more power but proper car. This WRX is going to be your undoing. Front wheel drive biased awd = Fail for performance. Only good in drag race on wet/snow roads or rallying all of which is what we don't do here through the summer months. Not to mention cost of owner ship is WAY up compared to a Miata or e30 for that matter. I hope you found a job that pays really well! I'm suspecting we're not going to see you much this summer at the track or autocrosses. lol.

Ahhh this is what I love about you and I knew it was coming lol

I DON'T BUY CARS BASED ON THE ONE AUTO X I DO A MONTH!

People who buy cars based on their track performance are idiots unless they goto the track weekly, or at least bi-weekly, not once a month. 99.99% of my driving is street driving.

I bought the WRX because it's a all around nice car, decently quick out of the box (way quicker now), factory turbo (which means it fairly easy to get power out of) and it's not 20 years old. I've never owned a car made after 1991 (except for my POS Ford Contour). I get it, E30's are God's Chariot and nothing is greater than it, but once I got out of the E30 and Miata (which was a pile of shit and embarassing to drive) and got into a car that actually started, drove amazing, didn't smell like shit or have exhaust leaks and everything worked in it, I was in love.

I wanted a new car, and a nice car. All my friends have worry free cars that they can mod and not worry about fixing a million problems before making things better. The amount of money I've dumped into my E30's is insane and I could have owned an E36 M3 for the price, which is still more than when I paid for the WRX.

I don't really care how well I do at Auto X, I go for fun, not to be competative. And it's 45:55 split, which is RWD biased. And the E30 was more expensive to maintain because everything was 20 years old and breaking.

And Jay and John, why don't you guys own Miatas? lol

Firstly, I hate convertibles. (Roadsters included, too many fails associated with them) If the Miata coupe was ever produced, I'd consider it. Secondly, my familial requirements that I have 4 seats at least, 4 doors makes life easier but isn't a must. Miata, 2 seats = no can do. If I'm going somewhere and I have to change car because I have no room for my kids, well lets just say I wouldn't be married for too much longer. LOL.

That said, I've spent some time with a Miata and came away thoroughly impressed everytime.

WRX is a car I'd consider, well actually have considered, but went (erroniously with a 1.8t Jetta wagon instead.) We found the WRX just too small in wagon form and sedan just wouldn't work. Now, looking back I should've dealt with the lack of space in exchange for the reliability. Cost of repairs is still enormous as is my VW so that would be a wash.

But sam, lets get serious here. It is YOU that said to me that you wanted a car that could mash up the autocross and race track and that's why you bought a super mint, super performing MIATA. That didn't even last 1 year and now you're in a super performing, super mint WRX. And your saying that it doesn't matter how it performs at the autocross or track and that some people just buy cars to be good for the street. Well thats right, and that's okay, but then why tell me that, that IS what you are looking for? I'm confused. If you're looking for a street race light to light car and good reliability you've bought a great little car for that.

how has it been in the snow so far? Did you throw (or were included) some snows on it yet? The thing is a beast when doing 4 wheel drifts. I'm looking forward to a ride, or maybe a drive?

I needed an excuse for a buying a Miata.

And it came with winters and a set of 17" pro-drive replica wheels.

But its a blue subaru... It needs gold wheels.

So because it has 4 wheels and no roof it's comparable to a Miata?

Linea Corse LeMan's (LM reps) on the WRX? or TE-37 reps?
