temp sensor

My trusty little red shit box told me it was -24(!!!!) out here tonight in Milton... gotta be a record for me reading that on the OBC. Although, if it's anything like the e30 speed sensor, it was probably only -18.

I had my dad following me in his e30 vert tonight as well, and he started disappearing in my rear view, and then flashed his highs at me and stopped at the lights that cleared just before they turned yellow. So he calls me on the phone, and he's like "my car just started making a lot of noise". So I turn around, pull up behind him, get out, take a deep breath and smell: Diff. (mmmm, diff smell... almost as tasty as bumper shock oil) Went from being perfectly fine, to a whirring pile of scrap in half a second. No warning at all, just completely shit the bed. To top it off, his blower resister died tonight, three days after my mom's resistor died!

effing e30's. Gotta love em!

To the parts bin!!!!

Wow! That's a serious string of bad luck. Do you have any idea why the diff failed? I know it was cold enough to turn my drink to slush as I was walking down the street, but that doesn't make sense to me.

PS. Got a brand new water pipe ready to install, I'll let you know about the radiator.

Not a clue... just shat the bed out of nowhere! Probably much better off with a new pipe. Sorry I couldn't help out with that one Ryan.

I know! I though of you cancelling you 401 run, and decided that you had made the right choice! I wouldn't have done it myself! Now I question whether or not driving to Ottawa in a couple weeks is a good idea. Damn 20 year old cars.

Oh don't worry about that, I did walk away with some inspiration... Hard to find sometimes with a car I've struggled with for almost 8 years. lol

Struggling with your e30? Nooo. They're always perfect! Oh, btw, I had to trade that rad to Steve for an "is" lip as I left mine on the car only to have it get wrecked by a chunk of ice sitting on the highway, so I still have one rad left, but I've gotta keep it just incase one of our cars craps out.
