Luckily they don't stand out as much (only in sunlight)... But I was thinking of getting a lip and painting it body color paint and putting it on, without changing the skirts... would it look like ass?
I just think aftermarket skirts cost a lot... do they? Or how much painting them would cost?

it'll look a bit odd with painted lip and grey skirts. If I can remember correctly, replica skirts cost around $200 to $300 a pair, and probably another $200 to paint.
If you can find a green 1995+ E36 owner who is selling their side skirts (because they go overtop of the grey ones), you should buy those because it will probably cost less, but even if not, they're oem
