I can get a free TV which has a burnt out lamp. It seems like a decent TV and it looks like the replacement lamp will cost me $200 (user replaceable).
Here is the TV:
46in 720p Toshiba 46HMX85
And here is the cheapest lamp I could find so far (I prefer local and OEM):
D95-LMP
So basically for about $200 (plus a couple of trips) will get me a 2005 TV thats 46in and 720p, but its lamp might expire in another 5 or so years. Based on the viewing distance from my couch to the TV, 720p is a good resolution. I'm not really in the market for a TV, so if I don't get this I wont be going to best buy to look around for tvs.
So my question: is it worth it? If anyone here works with an electronics supplier I don't mind buying the lamp from them either.
