Fun in the snow! hahah.
As long as it's the same size casing, it should be pretty straight forward. Obviously your gonna want to replace the fluid before driving.
I had a friend of mine who is a mechanic to my swap, but from what I remember, It was not hard at all.

Essentially what you get is consistency. With an open diff the drive wheels will sometimes grab and sometimes slide, giving you a half-assed slide that is unpredictable.
After putting a LSD in my car 5 years ago, I'd never go back to open. When I hit the gas in snow I know that both tires are doing something. Did I ever mention the story about when I drove past a guy in a parking lot stuck in his 2009 f-150, in my lowered e30. His one wheel was spinning like crazy, he's trying back and forth, etc... I couldn't help but laugh that the guy bought an open diff truck.
You'll love it.

You can expect tighter U-turns and nice smooth drifts. You'll love it!

Just dont hit WOT in a corner! Bad things will happen if you are not ready for it! BMW even had a warrning about "spirited" driving with LSD in the owner's manual...

Be 'aware' of it that's all. I suggest going to a parking lot and playing with it to get used to when the traction breaks free. You'll get the feel quickly for it.
Another thing is backshifting in a corner. You want to be careful if the road is slippery because if you let the clutch in too fast you'll temporarily lose traction.
Again I love it, and I'd never go back to open.
