Got a dSLR again!

Just picked up a D80 + Tokina 12-24 F4 and snapped a few randoms. Shots are completely unedited. Lemme know what you think. I'm basically a total noob at this, the last time I owned one were the Rebel XT days!

Already using it Anuk? Nice!

That Tokina looks pretty sharp - what did it run you?

Oh - and you missed your focal point on shot 1. should have focused on the roundel...

Haha, thanks Deep. The Tokina ran me $400 used, but it is flawless/mint. Couldn't be happier! IIRC, Henry's sells it for $800-$900 + tax.

As for missing the focal point, I'm only a noob at this! Slowly getting the hang of it...

Use the single point focus, not auto focus. I prefer using the center point, point at what I want in focus, press half way and focus, then reposition the frame to how I want to see the shot.

Haha cool pictures, but just as I when I got my first SLR, I did not do so good on the aiming/focusing.

Moar randomzzzz. I'm finally understanding how to use the ISO/Aperture to control the lighting of images.

The Bay at night.

Trying to capture some of the constellations. So many stars out every night! The lack of light pollution in this part of the world makes for some seriously stunning night skies.
