How hard is 11 to 18 button obc conv

Like title states. I'm thinking of tackling this but am curious how hard it actually is. For ppl that have done it how long did it take you? Any good DIY write ups?

I also didn't bother with the stalk or the code feature, so i didn't have to tear open my glovebox or the area around my steering wheel.

just had to pull out the cluster, obc and sunglass holder

The instructions on bimmerforums seem scary but it really isn't a big deal.

For the most part you're just matching up wires by color and I think there's only 3 or 4 wires you route to the cluster.

The turnstalk and code feature are really easy too. Only two wires.

if you have an 11 button you dont need to even cut off the one harness. just splice into it, its reall simple, done a couple now, doing it only takes an hour or so. much harder if you go from a 7 button to 18

This doesn't sound right. I think if you have a 11 button you gotta add one connector. If you have a 7 button, you have to rewire one connector, and add another.

Piece of cake. Don't forget the turn signal stalk too, it's a nice touch. Some of the instructions on BF.c had me laughing, the one guy just twisted wires together and heatshrinked them, no permanent mechanical connection. You have to either crimp it or solder it, I prefer crimp, it's faster and you don't have to use a torch around the rest of the interior.

You push the stalk "in" (towards steering column) and it clicks, and cycles through all the displays on the 18 button OBC.
