Lunar Eclipse (Winter Solstice)
Anyone stay up and see this rare occurance last night? Last one was 400 years ago and we had perfect conditions.
I was viewing it through a set of high-powered binoculars (image stabilizer & tripod)... thought I could stick my phone-camera (5MP Nexus One) up to the lense and snap a pic... turned out surprisingly good!

I was out on my driveway from 1:30 until 3:00 watching it. It looked like a pearl floating in the sky. I'm still waiting for when I'm 80ish so I can see halley's comet again

This might sound retarded, but did anyone else's dog freak out/howl during the eclipse? I've never heard mine howl in her life, but she woke me up at about 2:30am and it took me a couple minutes to shut her up. Now here's the messed up part - my boss said his dog did the same thing, only he figured at the time it was because the dog was in pain/discomfort. I know he wasn't shitting me because he brought it up before I even mentioned my dog and he said it's the first time she's done it as well. Probably just a crazy coincidence, but it kinda freaked me out. Almost like these dogs were somehow in tune with what was happening...
Hopefully you guys don't think I'm a lunatic. Normally I'm the first one to scoff at the suggestion of anything pertaining to the supernatural and such, but I know I wasn't dreaming lol.

The only thing that will keep me up that late is booze, bitches, or bmw's, or all three at once...
These pictures more than suffice.

Watched it. It is cool if you think about what life was like when the last people saw it and what they must have thought was going on in the sky.

I was at my buddies place as this was going on. His dog suddenly started barking like crazy, going nuts. We didnt understand why, his dog isn't the type to bark without any reason. Definitely strange.

I always wonder why an amateur astronomer with a high powered telescope hasn't tried to find the crap they left behind when they landed on the moon.
