Tracking a vert just not doing it for you, Rod? What did you pick up?

The vert is actually surprisingly good on the track... I'm not yet at the level to bring it anywhere near it's limits but Bruno gave it a good run at last driving school and got closer (still not at its limit) and was shocked at how stiff the thing is and how well it handled. The turbo m30 doesn't hurt coming out of the corners either.

However, if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right and safely. (that's my excuse for this build anyway). The vert will still be a summer cruising speed demon.

Project X (If I can make it happen) won't be streetable at all. That is all I'm sayin' for the moment.

Well, I know you were complaining about understeer on the track at the Trillium Club show and shine, but I wasn't sure if you had put increased camber mounts in yet to try to correct it. The difference I've found between a vert chassis and a coupe chassis is night and day when it comes to being nimble... overall handling isn't far off on the street, but the verts are just not happy being twisted around.

Ever thought about doing an S38?

Yes I did have bad understeer in the vert at TMP. After that (and after the trillium show) I installed front camber plates, drop hats, and an IX rear sway with new bushings before going to Mosport DDT, where I also played with tire pressures front and rear. Was night and day. My car has solid engine and tranny mounts so the driveline effectively acts like an X brace. Strut bar helps up front. The factory hardtop also helps stiffen. Is it as stiff as a non-vert with same setup? Maybe not... but it was plenty stiff. I may add a butt strut and solid subframe / RTAB bushings to finish it off.

I've thought about the S38 for this new build, but the purchase/rebuild/maintenance costs outweigh the benefits in my opinion for what I'm trying to do with the budget I have in mind.
