Couple of weird issues

I just got my e36 320i about 2 months ago. I have noticed a couple of things since I have been driving it the last while.
1. Weird click/click sound coming from down near the pedals. You can kind of feel it in the pedals. It does this while the engine is running and does it at regular 7sec intervals. I tried to open the hood and see if I can hear
it there but I can't detect it.

2. If I use the "snowy conditions" button on the transmission the car starts misfiring when accelerating. It goes away after a while or if I stop and turn the car off and then back on.

If anyone can help shed some light, that would be great.

I consider myself mechanically inclined, just new to BMW's

I don't nor have I ever owned an automatic e36 but I highly doubt your car just starts misfiring when pressing the button. Maybe get a copy of the manual and read up on the button. Does the car keep "misfiring" after you press the button again to deactivate the snowy conditions?
