e90 oil change?

hi everyone. my gf drives an e90 and it is due for its first oil change since the warranty expired so it will be the first time we have to pay for it.
I found it pretty surprising when they told us the oil only needs to be changed annually, especially when theres not even a dipstick to check!
before this thread takes the wrong direction ill get to my questions.
the dealership tells me its $163+tax just for an oil change. somebody please tell me I can take it elsewhere/maybe even anywhere? and get the same spec oil changed for a more reasonable price (and hopefully they have the proper diagnostic tool to reset the oil change light ofcourse)

thanks.

A good Group IV/V oil should last 20-30k+ easy. As long as the filter is up to the task.

Take a look at the reputable BMW specialised independent mechanics in your area.
