That sucks...

But he spent his life-savings and took out a second mortgage for a car?

Yes that is quite weird. And if I did it, I sure wouldn't mention it!

car is getting repairs and the owner got $ for depreciation cost associated with a repaired car.

Should help him pay off the 2nd mortgage

I watched a 2005 Gallardo with minor accident history sell for $45,000USD back in the summer... I could only imagine what his car is worth now

I can't believe that after reading all that it finally clicked..."spent is life savings and a 2nd mortgage to buy the car"...if your gonna use your life savings and second mortgage to buy a car - somethings wrong with you.

You live only once. If you want a dream car, 2nd mortgage and life savings is nothing. Have fun and do what makes you happy. If it means blowing cash out the window so be it!

Good for him it worked out but DAMN a 2nd mortgage and life savings, no wonder he does his own service.

I'm sorry but I am finding that part (2nd mort+life savings) hard to swallow, makes a better story maybe? I just have never heard of this in my life, I mean even morons only get loans they cannot afford on cars, having their priorities out of whack but a 2nd mort and savings? I mean what kind of savings could you have any way if you needed a 2nd mortgage, $50?

All in all I feel bad his car got wrecked and he had to fight to get comp'd but holy crap batman.... Hi my name is Jean Claude, I am sexy no, oyh ya and btw flat broke and likely bankrupty soon but wanna see my 10 year old lambo?

The guy is oviously a car finatic, and to be honest, money is only a value if u give it one, He probably dreamed of owning the car, and well IF ur in a career with a stable income, and ur done paying off ur mortgage and u got extra money to spend, why not just re mortage the house and buy the dream car, u already have a nice house

Thats what i would do (unless i had kids to worry about )

Congrats on that guy,

But i think a car like that needs to have ALL maintainance done at a dealership... unless u work with lambos for a living
