Sorry for your loss...

This is a bit strange; the broken lock on the ground is pretty low tech considering what you have to do to drive away the car. Could have been towed away...If they can deal with the ignition and the EWS, the door lock would be the nothing to them.

shouldnt be to hard to take.
get in the car switch the ecu with a ecu they bring that already has the immobalizer diabled OR has the immobalizer with a key they bring. hold it close to the ignition while they turn the ignition with either a rigged key or punch out and voila

they probably punched the lock on the door, dropped the e-brake and towed it away.

Sorry to hear, buy another.

Nah...takes too much time. You have to go under the hood, unbolt ECU cover, swap computer, take off cover under steering wheel, unbolt EWS, get new one in place...Deal with the ignition...

Some of you may remember the king of car thieves Bill Dhaliwal. Stolen numerous high end cars, although his specialty was BMWs

You Tube an Episode of Masterminds - King of car thieves. They explain everything and how he hacks into the cars computer and drives off as if it was his own. I believe he's still in jail, but I'm sure he's got prospects out there.
