Windshield repair/replace recommendation needed

I need to repair or replace the front windshield on my E30. Any recommendation for auto glass shops around Ottawa? Thanks.

I've dealt many times with Apple Auto Glass on Gladstone for tint & windshields - I've always had great service, and the prices are very reasonable.

I also had to deal with Speedy Glass in an emergency situation last summer: I shattered my windshield on a thursday night before a track weekend. I called up their 24-hour hotline at 9pm, and found out they had a windshield in stock. They shipped it overnight to Ottawa and set me up with an appointment in Kanata for 8am. I was at Calabogie by noon - I had only missed the morning sessions . I paid more than I could have had I shopped around, but with service like that, I have ZERO complaints.

+1 for Apple... Just don't cheap out, you'll regret it.

Thanks guys.

I called several places (including Apple Auto Glass) and they don't know what brand is the glass. They also indicated that the only place that carries original BMW windshield is from the dealer. Is that true?

That's possible. I don't think going aftermarket is a problem - I think it's what brand of aftermarket you go for. If you're getting glass from a place like Speedy or Apple, you know you're going to get something good because they stand behind.

I have glass from Apple on my street car, and on my track car and have no complaints.

Try to get Sekurit or Pilkington windshields.

apple auto glass

I too have used apple auto glass on gladstone.

I have the windshield with the sensor for the rain. BMW told me $1375, took it to apple and they did it for $550 tax in cash deal. Same exact windshield as the dealer and the OEM original. GUARDIAN windshield.

1/2 the price.

Good luck

Thanks everyone for your input.

I finally got the E30 windshield replaced at Speedy Autoglass in Orleans. This is decided by my insurance company and I have no choice. Speedy used an aftermarket glass from TY. It looks ok so far. The Speedy Autoglass shop is very friendly and it took less than an hour to replace the glass.
