Hey Shawn,

Just realized last night that I'll have to space out the bumper from the splitter like you did in order to clear the sway bar. Could you tell me what thickness of foam you got to do so?

I used 2" foam. Once everything is bolted up, check the level of the lip though - mine was above 0deg so I had to shim it a bit to bring it back down, level to ground.

So this weekend was kindof productive.

Saturday afternoon I worked on finishing some of the final touches on the splitter/front bumper assembly, before it all gets painted, and then I finished painting my last 2 wheels - all 4 are the same colour now, for the first time since I've owned them

I also picked up a new battery - got an Odessey PC680 - weighs in at 12lbs mounted it in it's "new" location - decided to put it here because it's inside the cage - we'll see what's it like - i may move it again. Oh and I do know that I need to isolate it as well... TBC....

Sunday was fluids day: did an diff flush, tranny flush, coolant flush, and oil change. After that, installed the exhaust system and then tried to bleed the clutch.

Well I popped the slave cylinder pin out into the transmission bell housing (must have done something wrong) and now I have to pull the transmission back out. Awesome - just what I needed.

I figured well, let's start the car and at least make sure it runs. Good thing I did: it doesn't.

Well, it does, but really crappy - it's SUPER rich - to the point where it's stalling out almost.

My wideband it messed up I think - hopefully that's the issue, but we'll see... ugh friday is coming too soon...

Shitty luck bro. We'll figure it out before friday. You can put off painting until next week. It doesn't need to be done before the weekend.

True - I have a new wideband being shipped as we speak (from Lachute Performance), and access to a new 3.5" MAF that I'll be borrowing for tonight.

Chris - tonight I'm going to be ripping sensors off your car to see if I can figure it out

I'll start with your o2 and go from there!

If you unplug the o2, it would be running in open loop and should run normally though perhaps a touch rich no? Unless you're use the wideband to trick the ecu, once warm, to with larger injectors or something?

the ecu uses the wideband signal - not too sure what goes on behind the scenes with that lol.

We tried disconnecting the MAF last night and the car seemed to run a bit better... hopefully it will be that easy.

So, typically the wideband's signal isn't used until the sensor is fulled heated, which takes about 20 seconds or so. This means that a full cold start with no sensor, the car will run without o2 sensor data every time.

So you can unplug the wideband controller from the ecu and see if it makes a difference. If it improves, then something is likely faulty. That's extremely unlikely with a wideband though, since the controller outputs the signal, not the sensor, to the ECU. If the controller fails, it typically reports nothing to the ECU.

It's more likely the MAF.

that's my fear as well - when we unplugged the MAF, it seemed to run better...

I let the car idle for a couple minutes and it didn't get any better/worse. The AFRS were moving but were REALLY weird: started initially below 7.4 (so it would just flash at me), then at part throttle shoot to 21.8 instantly, despite the exhaust still blowing black (so there's NO WAY it was that lean). I probably fried the 02 somehow, but have another problem too

Well tonight was a success!

Engine is fixed: it really was just the o2. I think that combined with the first start of the season made it a bit rough. I let the car get up to temp and stay there and it was great- a bit of a vacuum leak but that was there last year too... It's good to go!

And then: thanks to an awesome extendable magnet, I was able to fish the slave pin out of the tranny without pulling it!!! So awesome! When I pulled the slave off, the pin was sitting up above the lever - guess it was misaligned during install. Well i reassembled everything, bled the clutch and it held

So I lost one evening but with two successes I'm pretty stoked! Tomorrow will be paint prep, Wednesday night paint, Thursday am reassembly, pm alignment, and Friday final touches before heading to the track

Wow Shawn, busy week!!! Good to hear it's sorted. Are you doing the 5-7 lapping on Friday? If so, see you there.

Thanks Diogo! Yeah it will be busy for sure (as always!).

The plan is to be out there friday. Now that I have those two issues resolved, I should be good to go!
