E30 M50 oil pan removal.....

so, any thoughts on how i can get this monster pan out?

so far i loosened the engine mounts at the bottom, and lowered the subframe a few mm's. thoughts?

Completely remove one subframe bolt at a time, then put it back in 5-6 threads. Do this for all four. This will lower the subframe about 2". Next, use a jack and some wood on the motor mount arms so that you can raise the engine. You should be able to raise it about 2" which will give you enough space to remove the oil pan.

Remove the engine from the car.

LOOKING FOR: M42 rad or e36 coolant reservoir, flywheel and clutch for m50 and inline fuel pump!

Dude! you have the magic swap hoist!!!

Take the hood off, hook the front of the motor, start lifting so theres a wee bit of tension on the chain, unbolt the motor mounts and see if you can lift the motor enough to take the pan out, if you can't then lower the subframe and she should come out then.
