e46 vs e90

Is there any difference in offset / bolt pattern / etc. for 16" wheels between e46 and e90?

Offset is a little different but bolt pattern is the same.

Which 16's, the steelies or aluminum?

I'm looking at some 16" e46 alloys for winter.

i've swapped wheels between my E46 and E90... it will fit....

16" e46 wheels may not clear the e90 brakes... but you've got a 323i... so it might fit..

bolt pattern/offset.. you're fine.

clearance on a 16" might be an issue

Reviving an old thread as my search didn't help.

Will all E90 rims fit on an E46 properly?

Looking for snows and the E90's are sooo much nicer.

Yes, E90 non-M wheels fit an E46. The wider rear Sport Package setups with 255s will sometimes require a fender roll. But for narrow snows, no problem.

Having owned both at the same time, I've changed things up.
The 18" Sport E90/E92 rims, with 255 tires work really nice on a E46 with sports suspension.

E90 snows should be fine. Get thinner tires. Walk away from anything wider that 225 on a E46 for the winter.

Perfect. Run 205/50/17 or 225/45/17, the former preferred.
