Got the Bav and 3.0si home!

Both at home now. For anyone curious this was the 1972 Bav on kijiji 1hr north of Guelph.

My original plan for these cars was to use the 3.0si as a parts for the lighter Bavaria chassis. However, although the Bav was on a farm it was no barn find that's for sure. The two hour trip was still worth it as I took 3 friends and it was just so beautiful in around that area with the turning leaves and hills.

The reasons that concluded I would use the 1975 3.0si as the base for the restore are:

1.When I jacked the Bav with my 2 tonne jack it held for a second and then the jack whent right threw the main thick metal beam.

2. I took off the fiber fenders and was utterly shocked to see colonies upon colonies of wasps.

3. I wanted to sit in the drivers position but when I went in to put my foot down on the floor panel it collapsed threw.

4. I saw a snake skin shedding and got the hell out of there as fast as I could have.

Anyway, here are a few picture of the Bav when I picked it up and in my garage- where I decided plans would change for it and I'll just pull necessary parts out. *The fenders are really cool cuz they are fiber class.

Here is the 3.0si which looks like it rolled right off of the assembly line if compared to the Bav. It really is in amazing contidion though with only 85xxx miles on it.

The areas of concern are the fenders which I will replace with the fiber class ones from the bav (which should give me avid excuss to put an L on the trunk lid aswell- 3.0 SI L, lol). Also, a concern is a bit of the hood the upper parts of the rocker panels, as well as a bit of the back. All of that is going to be cut a welded. Everything else on this car is amazing. The interior is like new so I won't be touching it. I post more details on this project when I know exactly everything that needs to be done. Thanx for reading!

Yes, that is definitely on the to do list. I hate the 5mph bumper, it's hidious. It isn't hard either as all it is, is drilling two holes on either side of the chassis. Should be a sinch!
