Wow, people actually research phones? I just buy whatever I think looks cool/has keyboard and is functional for, you know, calling.
Currently with the 9700 Bold, will get the torch...someday.

Bah!, turns out my non-functioning-camera problems came back. Time for an over-counter exchange. Gotta buy a new wrap and screen protector again

If you have a 9700, I would hold out. They didn't use newer technology processor and screen-wise. They basically made added some RAM, touchscreen and OS6. I'd say upgrading depends on what phone you are upgrading from.

Wait for the next version that will be coming out within 12 months. RIM is getting a lot of crap for releasing a device with so many parts from their existing parts bin.

^^ Im upgrading from the 8830 world fone....Yes! nearly 4 yrs old lol

Im hoping it will hold out long enuff till the new upgrade for the torch comes out! Im reallllllly hoping that it comes sooner than the summer time next year.

I too believe that waiting it out is the best option but my current fone is.... umm well dying!

So far, it seems a lot quicker (some how) with all the same apps installed, plus new ones... probably the increased RAM & OS6 combo. My camera gave me issues initially by simply not snapping pics when I wanted it to... a reinstall of OS6 v.246 solved it though. The phone is quite a bit heavier than the Bold/Curves... you can definitely feel it in your pockets and the screen resolution seems a step backwards. The best part is the browser. Definitely on par with iPhone's Opera IMO. I go through phones often, this Torch will hold me over until the Motorola Milestone-2 (or equivalent) comes out. For a complete (albeit negative) review, see the following GSMArena Link.

On Gamite's recommendation I've been using BestSkinEver wraps on my past 3 Blackberrys. They are tough, invisible, don't peel off unless you're finished with it (comes off perfectly clean), saves the phone from any scratches (won't resist shock - duh) and is so thin that the phones still fit inside holsters/cradles etc. I usually order the wraps before I get the new phone, put it on as soon as I unbox it and manage to get top dollar for the phone months later when I sell it used (looks like brand new). Don't rely on their screen protectors though, not the nicest finish. I just get them off ebay from Hong Kong usually for pennies.

How was the skin for the Torch? It has a slide out keyboard etc. - Did anything start peeling off or anything?

Has anyone tried the iPhone skin?

Skin for Torch is perfect. Nothing peels off (unless you start picking the corner of it - like a sticker)
