Blackberry Torch....any users??

Im really contemplating getting this new BB Torch.

I have a 4 year old BB 8830 World phone that has served me amazingly well!

http://www.phonearea.net/wp-content/...ld_edition.jpg

Im not an app user etc.... just need a really good fone that will last me a long time and keep up with over 300 of my contacts and 8 emails that accompany both my business'.

If anyone has any feedback that would be great everyone!

Cheers

Lone.

All the friends that I know that have it love it.

I played with one of theirs shortly and it was nice. If I didn't already have my 9700 I would probably get the Torch.

You on the other hand, need an upgrade.

That must be US Torch. My Rogers rep told me that they're having technical issues with the device and it is being held back till later in the month.

Friend: "Its good...actually its not good. It sucks."

There ya go.

they have been selling the Torch in Canada for the past 2 weeks, just go to any Rogers wireless store or Best Buy/Futureshop, EMPOWERD has one, he had the 9700 before.

you said it man!
I have mine all beat up.... its fukn slow and shit now but then again all the upgrades and firmware i think are what killed it.

Thanks guys!

I just read that there is a software upgrade that is coming out for the Torch that will increase speed in a variety of areas.......!

Is there going to be a new torch in the new year?

Seeing that the torch was just released I don't think a newer model will be out for at least a year.

that upgrade is for the early release Torch from AT&T, all the Torch that are sold now in Canada already have the latest software, I told EMPOWERD about it last wednesday, he checked his phone & noticed that he already has it.

Yup all the Canadian providers are already running the newer OS... there were no lag issues on the one I tried (Telus version). The phone is a quick and responsive.

I picked mine up on Sept 30th at Rogers.. takes some getting used to. I realize now how much quicker I can type touchscreen (with autocorrect) vs. QWERTY. I was really concerned about the unit being choppy as i'm a heavy user and was getting annoying with my Bold 9700 being too slow. So far, it seems a lot quicker (some how) with all the same apps installed, plus new ones... probably the increased RAM & OS6 combo. My camera gave me issues initially by simply not snapping pics when I wanted it to... a reinstall of OS6 v.246 solved it though. The phone is quite a bit heavier than the Bold/Curves... you can definitely feel it in your pockets and the screen resolution seems a step backwards. The best part is the browser. Definitely on par with iPhone's Opera IMO. I go through phones often, this Torch will hold me over until the Motorola Milestone-2 (or equivalent) comes out. For a complete (albeit negative) review, see the following GSMArena Link.

I'm with Randy on this one. I picked mine up over the Thanksgiving weekend and have absolutely no complaints with it. I got mine from Best Buy on a Rogers hardware upgrade
