I was going to Precision Auto, not really having a good time with them. Premier Performance started doing some work for outside customers, James is very good with our cars, I'm not sure his rate, but call 613 321 1112 and talk to Sean, the owner about it.

Not great. I'm tempted to say $110.
Max, Where is this other place?

It's off Montreal Rd, I've had nothing but fantastic service by them.

I need my Thrust Arms replaced.
I've done ALL my own work to this point (shocks, springs, bushings, brakes, valve cover gasket, VANOS gaskets, etc) but these thrust arms are kicking my ass. I'm fed up with trying to get the front end of my 2003 530 apart. I have the new arms ready to go.
Any suggestions would be great!
Looking to get them done ASAP.

Seriously?
I consider taking my car to Toronto sometimes depending on what needs to be done, and here you are asking about shops in a specific part of Ottawa. Ottawa is tiny, just source the best place and go...

Wow, you must be from Toronto? LOL
Ottawa is FAR from tiny and as you can see there are multiple shops being suggested.

No I'm not from Toronto...
I'm just saying, don't limit yourself to the "East side".

You could talk to Autobahn Tuning in Manotick. If he's super busy, it can take a while, but the last few times I've been, Todd has been fast, and his prices are fair. He knows the 5-series well. He knows my 5-series really well.

Thats a hard man to get a hold of. We're playing telephone tag, but it takes him 2 days to return my call.
Now I have to get it done this week. Might end up taking it to Elite.

Just realized that I already have the parts, the dealer probably won't touch them.

Here is Jame's cellphone. He's the head mechanic who will be able to make appointments faster then Sean. Sean is a parts distributor more then a tech.

Thanks Arek, I'm bringing it there tonight to have them work on it tomorrow.
Sorry to James at Premier. Those guys are hard to get a hold of. James did leave me a voicemail but I had already booked an appt with Metric.
I will let you guys know the turn out.

If you were willing to take it to Elite and pay dealership prices, why not consider Duss Brothers?
Any decent and competent mechanic will be able to work on BMWs, just find one that is honest and charges fair prices.
I would understand if we were talking about a Ferrari, Bentley or anything exotic, but BMWs are just like many mass-produced cars out there.

I use Metric whenever I need something done quick, and don't have time to do it myself (race cars or street cars!) ... Ian's never let me down, and can usually get it done next day. Fair and honest.

Work is done at Metric. 3 hours of labour.
Ian is a really nice guy. I appreciated having the work done quickly. I had dropped it off late last night (tues) and he called me at 12:45 thursday that it was done.
I ask him if they were up for doing my rear main seal at some point and he said absolutely.
I give Metric Auto two thumbs up.
