New the the BMW scene!!

Hey everyone!

Thought I'd post a little about myself and the car I'm picking up next weekend!

First off my name is Mike Brown, I'm 19 years old, and have been a BMW fanatic for probably three solid years now. I live in the far west side of Ottawa, just outside of Carp actually.

Next weekend my dad and I are driving down to Atlantic City, NJ to pick up my 1995 Boston Green M3. We'll be trailering it home as I don't want to go through all the hassle of insuring it just for the trip etc. (and to save my car from all those extra miles )

Although I'm new to the scene I do have a few friends that regularly do Auto-X events at SBP (an 8 minute drive from home).

sb_600 I went to school with your bro Chris.


Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself, hope to be seeing you all around sometime in the near future. I will make sure to make a thread with pics of the car when I get it back home

haha yeah, I think Chris said yours was black? I've seen you driving around Carp rd - March rd area. I'm either in a green Honda Ridgeline or a dark grey Mazda3 Hatch.

Quentin is pretty new to the AutoX scene too so I wont be the only newbie there lol

I know the car needs a new/rebuilt vanos, and theres a few cosmetic things to fix up, so I'm thinking I'll just garage it for the winter instead of paying for insurance during the months I'm not going to be driving it anyway.

Where exactly is Carp located? You might be fairly close to where I'm moving tomorrow. Besides that, welcome and hopefully we can get to see you at the meets at the M&M plaza

Carp is nowhere near where you are moving too

Well that sucks . Maybe one time we should all buy property outside of Ottawa and make a BMW street. Where we can drift around corners and all meet up for friday night BBQ out in the middle of the street Yea I know... I'm a dreamer!

Offtopic : You going next week to the meet spot? Hopefully I can get in contact with everlast and cruise with him there or meet up at sometime and official meet you guys.

Awesome! It's great to know there's some BMW folks right in the area! I've never done any really extensive engine work before, so the help would be very much appreciated.
